I managed to see this last night at the cinema. I was first introduced to Rodriguez’s work through the David Holmes mix, Come Get It, I Got It. I loved the Sugarman track on it and I remember picking up a bootleg copy of the Cold Fact album by Rodriguez a couple of years later. The film follows the story of how Rodriguez was bigger than Elvis in South Africa and how he inspired people to stand against apartheid with his songs. No one knew anything about him and it follows the story of how they tracked him down and what he had done with his life since his music career had ended. If you are interested in music documentaries then this is a great one to watch. It has some really enjoyable feel good moments and it is always great to see someone get the recognition that they deserve.
