Thanks to Bits Of Bobs for letting me know about this! Daft Punk have teamed up with Coca Cola to produce these bottles of coke. They represent the helmets worn by Daft Punk. They’ll be available in Paris in March. Colette should be selling them as well.

Fred Hoyle – The Black Cloud

The Black Cloud Book Cover

This recently got re-issued, so I have been reading it again. Its about a cloud that is floating through the Universe and it will come between the Earth and the Sun. Scientists discover this and begin to predict the effect it will have on the Earth. A think tank is assembled in a country house in England and due to some radical forward thinking this becomes the center of communications for the whole world. It is here that they discover that make an amazing discovery about the cloud, which leads to some dire consequences. I think this book was written in the 1950s, so it is a nice throwback to then and how they would have done things. Check it out if you are into classic science fiction.

Waking Life (2001)

I’ve been having super-realistic dreams recently, so it is fitting that I watched Waking Life this morning. I didn’t give it my full attention so I got a bit lost at times, but this is one excellent movie. I’m working my way though Richard Linklater‘s films. I was happy to see that the main character was played by Wiley Wiggins. I really like his acting. Anyway, he is constantly lucid dreaming and after a short while instead of observing his dreams, he starts to interact with them. I’ll definitely be watching this again when I can give it my full attention.
