I meant to stick this up at the beginning of the week but forgot until just now! I am DJing at this tomorrow night. It should be good. I’ll probably be a bit rusty but still, I’ll try and play some good tunes. Come along if you are in Glasgow.

Life in 2050 is an exhibition taking place as part of the Sci Fi London film festival. Artists were asked to produce work depicting life in the year 2050. Head to the site to see some of the art on display and also to find out more information about the exhibition. If I was in London, I would check it out.

So FUCT have collaborated with Medicom Fabrick to produce the above collection. I always like seeing who Medicom Fabrick work with. This collection is based on the camouflage used by the US military in the Vietnam War. Soldiers would write on their helmets and that has been simulated on the camouflage in the collection. It is nice a idea. I quite like the slippers.
I first heard this song in Psycho Pab’s Seraph Musical Messenger mix. He had sampled it and Siobhan Fahey sang over the top. I kinda became obsessed with that mix, especially the last part of side a which contained this track. Its mixed into Key West by Kasso. I’ve listened to that Seraph mix about a million times and I am still really impressed with it. Anyway, here is the Tantra tune. Its just a weird disco tune. I think what I really like about it is the guitar part, the bassline is quite ridiculous too and then the synth stabs are amazing in it. I really need to buy it on vinyl one of these days, though it isn’t a cheap record.
I quite enjoyed his output as part of Gang Starr, but he did do some iffy stuff. Anyway, RIP Guru. Thanks for the good tunes.
I’m beginning to wonder if I will get to see them next week. What will all this volcano activity.
Blen! Mark Pritchard returns with Steve Spacek. This is futuristic rude boy music. Out now on Warp. It’s like a battle cry through the internet. It first featured on the Warp 2010 compilation, but I’m really enjoying the remix on the 12″. If you buy it through Bleep then you get the mp3s for free!
