Just back from watching this round at my brother’s. Ok, so some of the science facts are nonexistent, but I still like this Western in space. Sean Connery in full effect here representing.

Simon James and Matt Ford (aka DJ Format) are The Simon Sound. I first heard of them on Solid Steel? I think? I am sure DJ Food has played some of their stuff. Anyway, this is a new project that is in the style of the early electronic music producers. It’s pretty decent. All synths and library styles. I like it. The album is due out soon. You can read more about it over at DJ Food’s blog. However, they do have a couple of nice mixes to download on their site, which I totally recommend. Then when the album is out you can buy that!
The Psychonaut have a short but sweet interview over at the Bonafide Magazine website. Check it out! You can find out Pablo’s top 5 hip hop tunes. While I am on the subject, Paul Mogg has a Soundcloud page which has some mixes on it for you to listen to.
I was recently on holiday in Inverness where I found this excellent little music shop in the Victorian arcade. It was called Imperial Music and the shop was rammed on a Saturday afternoon which was a great sign. It was great to see a new record shop and a decent one in Inverness too. It had a good stock of loads of independent stuff, even had a good selection of vinyl for the size of the shop. I didn’t have time to look through everything but I was impressed. Anyway, if you are up in Inverness then I recommend heading on over and taking a look round.

Alien Workshop has done a collaboration with Andy Warhol and produced some very fine skateboard decks. I’ve order the Dylan Rieder model and I am patiently waiting for it to turn up. I’ll post up some pictures when it does turn up. Kinda tempted to order another too. These are available from Route One in the UK.
HBO produced a wee documentary on skateboarding in New York. It features loads of folk like Jake Johnson and Gino Iannuci. They talk about what it is like skateboarding there. The ups and the downs.
Finally. Peoples Potential by Floating Points is fully released. The white label flew out of stores as soon as it went in them and its been played out loads! I heard this months ago on Benji B‘s show. It’s backed with a new track called Shark Chase which is heavy on the 4/4 and heavy on the Rhodes (I think?). Anyway, if you are into Floating Points then check out this release. He was heavy good at Numbers at the beginning of this month. Oh yeah you can buy this release and hear snippets over at Rubadub.
Cazbee & Coma (Richard Sen) have produced a mix for Cool In The Pool. It’s all funky breaks. Not listened to anything like this for a while so it is a good listen. They have also done an interview for the site as well which lets you know what is happening with Mixed Blood Cuts. Anyway, get on over there and download the mix. It’s pretty good.
