Aliens (1986)

I’ve not seen Aliens for ages, but I watched it last night. It’s still a fantastic film. Some great direction from James Cameron in it as well. Ok, so some of the special effects are a bit ropey, but on the whole this is a classic movie.

DJ Food – Blech 20.1

DJ Food has put up the first part of his Blech 20 mix for download at his soundcloud page. This was originally performed as part of the Warp20 celebrations in London. Sadly I couldn’t go to that, but I’m quite enjoying this mix as I type this blogpost.

The Day Of The Triffids

Above are some clips from the BBC‘s new adaptation of Day Of The Triffids. Its going out on the 28th and 29th of December. I’m quite excited to see what they have done with the story.

Ennio Morricone Don’t Look Back

So Ennio Morricone will be performing classic soundtrack music with a 100 piece orchestra and a 100 person choir! Amazing, really tempted to go to this. I doubt he will do the opening tune from The Thing though.

New DC Recordings Website

The new DC Recordings website is up and running. This probably happened ages ago, but I never got round to checking until just now. Anyway, there are some mixes you can download on the site and generally it seems to be a lot easier to get round. So head on over and check it out.

Frost Pattern

I really like this photo of a frost pattern. I found it over at the BBC website> as part of their week of photos from Scotland. Its always worth a wee look for some inspiration.

Bergensbanen in HD

A Norwegian TV channel, NRK2, showed an incredibly long documentary called Bergensbanen. It chronicled the scenic train journey from Oslo to Bergen. The programme shows every minute of the scenic journey along the West coast of Norway. I’ve not had a look yet, but you can download all of the footage from the TV programme. It clocks in at seven and a half hours. It is free to download under the Creative Commons License. Fantastic!

Watership Down (1978)

This is a Christmas classic. Highly disturbing, but an amazing story as well. The animation is beautiful. I think I’ll be watching this next week.

Broadcast and The Focus Group – I See, So I See So (Warp)
