I used to love Henry’s Cat as a kid.

Now, I love Sci Fi, but not all the stereotypical stuff. Some of my most influential moments have been sci fi oriented. I love 2001. It’s an amazing film, though i never actually sit and watch it all in one go. The mood is amazing in it. Other top films for me include THX1138, Tron and The Day The Earth Stood Still. It’s great to find a blog that puts up loads of interesting art to do with science fiction. Sci Fi O Rama is this blog and it is brilliant. Add it to your RSS feeds for some inspiration. I’ve also linked to them on here.

Cultural Analyst, Ariel Collin Stark Benz, has translated the Supreme logo into a variety of different languages on his website. It’s worth checking out over at his website. Big thanks to Girdy for sending me this interesting link.

Recently I bought a couple of records by Richard Sen and Cazbee. I didn’t really know who Cazbee was at all, but it turns out he is an old graffiti writer who now bangs out disco edits! The first 12″ I bought was on Autodiscotheque, which appears to be based in Dundee of all places. Obviously Dundee is the new disco capital of the world! Anyway, you should check out this 12″ if you like disco. You can listen to both tracks, Cat Dance and Lifetie, on their myspace page. Another 12″ to check out is the AM:FM 12″ on Mixed Blood Cuts. I am pretty sure this is being put out by Richard Sen as he put out some 12″s thought Mixed Blood before. Anyway, this is a stonking uptempo disco track and it has a Padded Cell remix on the flipside, which is some downtempo horror soundtrack thing. Check it out.
Anyway, to get back to the point of this post. Cazbee has some mixes available to download. Two of them are 80s ones and the second part is currently rocking the spot at the moment. Its all electro boogie stuff, which I really like. The third mix is a more deep tech house thing, which is alright as well. Check them out if you get the chance and check out his myspace pages, his flickr page and don’t forget to buy the records!
I’ve been scanning in some old photos as part of a project recently, so I have been uploading them to my Flickr page. Enjoy.
I’ve been getting into Dopplereffekt over the last couple of weeks. Amazing electro! Songs about machines and the future. Always good.

Finally! Warp have released two tracks by Hudson Mohawke through Bleep! I read about this on the Fact Magazine website a while ago. Just been listening to them nonstop and I am not 100% sure what to make of them. The two tracks are Polkadot Blues and Overnight. Polkadot Blues sounds like something The Chipmunks would release if they had been produced by The Neptunes. It’s ridiculously catchy. I quite like it. I’ll be bumping this on the way to work for a while. Overnight is some LARGE hip hop going on. Anyway, it is only £1.75 for both of these tracks, so get over to Bleep and buy them. The EP is due out on the 19th of January and will be on 12″, CD and Download. Looking forward to hearing the whole thing.
