McDonalds have been giving away free glasses with large meals again this summer. I got caught out in the rain during the summer and ended up in McDonalds so I bought a large meal and got a glass. I like how they are the shape of cans and actually hold the same amount.
I was shopping in Sainsbury’s the other week when I noticed that they had a Coca Cola glass for sale, or you could get if for free if you bought two 2 litre bottles of Coke. Now as much as I like Coca Cola, I opted not to buy the juice and just paid a £1 for the class. I’ve got quite a few Coca Cola glasses kicking about. I quite like them. I’ve always enjoyed the visual identity of Coca Cola. It’s also miles better than Pepsi. Check out the wee documentary about the recent Coca Cola advert below.
It’s Homecoming here in Scotland. So Irn Bru and Coca Cola have both released limited edition designs. The Irn Bru one takes us back to 1947 when they first changed the name to Irn Bru from Iron Brew. The Coca Cola one is slightly cheaper in my mind and less well executed, but they have Robert Burns on their bottles. I should add that I want to say thanks to Shirley for getting me the bottle of Coca Cola.
I love this advert. It made me laugh alot, then I went and bought a can of Coca Cola straight after seeing it. The power of advertising.
Normally I wouldn’t bother drinking Pepsi, but they have done a nice series where they have collaborated with artists to decorate cans and bottles. Here is a picture of the Jon Burgerman one. I apologise for the quality of the photo, I took with my phone and its quite bright in my office today. I got this in Farm Foods. 5 cans of fizzy pop for a £1. I didn’t buy 5 cans of Pepsi though, I made sure to get some 7up, as it is one of the finest soft drinks available to man.
