I had been after this book for ages. I guess it is a follow up to the classic Subway Art. This shows graffiti from around the world from the 1980s. It’s great to see some 3D and Goldie work and I love looking at the past and seeing how all the writers dressed and all the old work too.
Its sad news to hear that Rammellzee has passed away. If you have never heard Beat Bop then you can check it out below. Its one of my favourite hip hop records. The production is great and the lyrics are great too. It has such a great groove to it. There are quite a few photos of him in Martha Cooper‘s Hip Hop Files book. I also posted up a cool video of Rammellzee a couple of years ago on here.

I’ve always been interested in the music scene from Bristol. I guess its because I was into Massive Attack, Portishead and Tricky. Anyway, I bought the The Wild Bunch – Story Of A Sound System Mixed by DJ Milo a few years ago and was really into it. I loved the photographs of the Wild Bunch in action and wanted to know more! It was unti a few years later when I was in WH Smith‘s and noticed there was an article in Hip Hop Connection about the Wild Bunch. I bought it, took it home and there was a nice article about them and also an interview with the photographer, Beezer. It turned out he had published a book with all his photographs from that time, 83-88. Sadly, the book was only available in Japan and my friend out there couldn’t find it. I was surprised to see that it had been published here in the UK by Tangent Books. It appeared in the Massive Attack shop, but its much cheaper on Amazon as usual. It’s amazing! Just packed full of photos from Bristol in the 80s. Definitely and exciting time for music. It also contains some early artwork by 3D. If you are into graffiti, then this is worth checking out.
The Wild Bunch – The Look Of Love
Futura goes deep in this heavy interview. Just click on the image above to get there.
Elph One and Lyken Love have a show happening at Recoat Gallery in Glasgow kicking off next week. The opening is Friday the 18th of September from 7 – 10pm. I am looking forward to this show. Its supposed to be some Sci Fi Blueprint stuff. The flyer looks pretty cool. Anyway, if I remember, I’ll take some photos and stick them up.

These are some screenshots from a short video that seems to be an interview with Futura about his toys. I think it takes place in his workspace. Anyway, you can download the file from the link below. I don’t know where this footage comes from, but it’s interesting. Thanks to FIC from the UNKLE77 Forum for the link.
